Garena's Garena first league (GPL) began in the month of May. It's a premier online game that spans 6 months and features over 100 games. The GPL's inaugural season will be an internet-based League of Legends tournament with six teams of professional players. The teams are made up of the top players of their countries. GPL games as well as commentaries are broadcasted online. The public can view them via the GPL website. In January 2013, Garena confirmed that the Garena Premier League's second season was scheduled to begin on January 4th, 2013. Garena Premier League 2013 includes two teams new from Taiwan and Vietnam, bringing the team count to eight. AHQ, Saigon Fantastic Five, Bangkok Titans, Kuala Lumpur Hunters, Manila Eagles, Taipei Assassins, and Singapore Sentinels are the teams. It is the Garena E-Sports Stadium, an esports venue has been opened since November 2014 in Neihu District of Taipei. The stadium was constructed partially to accommodate the beginning of the League of Legends Masters Series The top-level Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau LoL league that was a spin-off of the GPL. The first month of January in 2015, Garena launched Iron Solari League which is a women's League of Legends tournament in the Philippines. This is a regular event held in the second week of each month. It aims to encourage participation by under-represented groups and is open to people who self-identify as women. Garena does not just organize tournaments but also organizes offline gatherings as well as events which allow participants to connect. Garena hosts the Garena Festival, which takes place in Singapore, Malaysia and other countries.
