Catherine Ford is a British actress, born in Bloomsbury. When her father's divorce from the household, the actress was grew to maturity by her mother, godparents and grandmother. Ford suffered from anxiety disorder based on the word association when she was a toddler. Ford began to become interested in acting during her teens, and joined the National Youth Theatre. Ford was accepted into the Sylvia Young Theatre School. However, after a short period of days, she realized that Sylvia Young Theatre School was not the right place for her. Ford rather than applying to Central School of Speech and Drama and securing a place at the third time, applied and won a place at Central School of Speech and Drama. Her classmate was Shaun Dingwall, who would later have a recurring role as Pete Tyler in Doctor Who. Ford's first appearance on television was a 1991 episode Surgical Spirit. By the time she graduated, Ford already went by "Catherine Tate". Tate made her television debut in 1991, appearing on television shows like The Bill. Men Behaving Badly. as well as London's Burning. She also worked regularly in the theatre, eventually becoming a member of with the Royal Shakespeare Company for its 2000-2001 season. But Tate quickly began gaining notice for her stand-up comedy, which she added to her show in 1996.
